For their first concert of the new year, Jorge Mester and The Pasadena Symphony offered three romantic pieces: Schubert's Symphony No. 6 in C major (The "Little" Symphony as distinguished from No. 7, The "Great"); Tchaikovsky's Serenade For Strings; and the world premiere of Peter Schickele's Concerto for Viola and Orchestra - a piece he wrote for Danielle Farina to play in her debut with the symphony.

Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles Debuts in Walt Disney Symphony Hall

In a concert entitled "The Best of Times," the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles brought its impressive musical skills to WDCH as the final performance of their 25th Anniversary season. Making their debut concert which was held on Monday, November 8, 2004, at this time gives special meaning to this anniversary. Though some of their more theatrical shenanigans were saved for their upcoming Christmas show, nevertheless, they treated the audience to amusing, in-place choreography of some of their lighter numbers.

What a delight to walk into the Hollywood Roosevelt to see the extensive remodeling that has brought the hotel out of its doldrums with fresh style, though the main floor isn’t finished yet. It took a few minutes to find the new location of the Cinegrill – downstairs now – but it was worth the hunt.
